Cuyahoga Valley National Park

If you’re interested in new mountain biking trails or beautiful natural scenery, Cuyahoga Valley National Park is the place to visit. The park has miles of new mountain biking trails, plus:

Hale Farm/Western Reserve Village

Hale Farm & Village is a living history museum that showcases the life of 19th-century living. Visitors can witness various craft demonstrations, including glassblowing and pottery.

The farm is home to an impressive three-story red brick house on 140 acres. The land includes lush gardens, fields, and woods.

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

The Stan Hywet estate spans 70 acres and includes five historic buildings like the Manor House, ten restored historic gardens, and an impressive collection of original furnishings. This destination is Akron’s first historical landmark.

You can take a guided tour of both the house and its gardens. Tour highlights include the Plunge, which is the Manor House’s indoor swimming pool, the Music Room, and the Great Hall.

The Towpath Trail

The iconic Towpath Trail is an 87-mile path suitable for horseback riding, hiking, running, and canal boat ride. You can also take a scenic rail along its route to enjoy the view.

The trail runs from the heart of Ohio to the Erie Canalway. Along its massive route, you will find several trailheads with various amenities like restrooms, pet-friendly areas, and camping sites.

Blossom Music Center

As a live music venue, the Blossom Music Center is a thriving pavilion that seats 5,700 people and an additional 13,500 on its lawn. The venue hosts popular music acts and symphonic performances from the Cleveland Orchestra each year.

F.A. Seiberling Natural Realm 

Part of the Summit County Metroparks, the Seiberling Nature Realm features hiking trails, ponds, a rock & herb garden, and bird-watching opportunities hard to find elsewhere. 

Akron Art Museum

The art museum in Akron features contemporary art and has a nearly a century-old history of promoting awareness and interest in the fine arts to communities in and around downtown Akron. They offer interactive exhibits, family days, and virtual school field trips.

You can also stop by the museum’s gift shop to support the facility. The gift shop includes garments and posters of art replications.

Akron Zoo
