If you’re an avid cook, you know the importance of having strong, high-quality cookware in your kitchen. A good quality set of pots and pans can be a huge investment, but they’ll last you a lifetime if you take proper care of them! Here are some tips and tricks to make your cookware last.

Avoid Metal Utensils

When cooking with a nonstick pan, never use metal utensils as this can scratch and strip the nonstick sealant from the product. This will lead to the product no longer being nonstick, which will make it harder to clean over time. We suggest using wood or silicon in place of metal utensils!

Be wary of Stacking Your Pots and Pans

Another habit that will keep your cookware from lasting a long time is stacking your products. This can also cause scratching of the product, which will lead to the item being harder to clean. It is suggested that if you must stack the products, put a barrier such as a paper towel between the items to keep them from any contact that is unnecessary.

Use Cooking Spray Sparingly

Cooking spray won’t be an issue in the short term, but over a long period of time, you will see that the spray builds up on your pots and pans over time. This will lead to the product no longer being as non-stick as the item was before.

Be Careful when Cleaning

It is suggested to never immediately clean pots and pans after using them to cook. When the item is going from extreme heat to cold water, it can cause warping over time.

Follow the Instructions

If there are instructions telling you how you should or shouldn’t store/use the item, we recommend following those guidelines!

Using Non-Nonstick Items

If by chance you have items that aren’t nonstick, we suggest following all the tips from above while also using extra caution when cleaning the pans to avoid stripping them of any coating they might have. We also can recommend treating them with care and not letting others use your products without supervision.
