Spring and Summer are right around the corner! With the weather getting nicer and the ground soon to not be a muddy mess, it is almost time to practice your yoga outdoors! There are so many benefits to doing yoga outside. Touching your bare feet to the grass and ground is a great way to connect with nature, ground yourself, and align with your higher self and spirituality. The fresh, warm air is helpful to clear your mind and allow for better relaxation when you are meditating. Doing yoga outside is also known for replenishing your energy. This is because you are directly exposed to the vitamin D from the sun! Now that you know the benefits of practicing yoga in the outdoors, where should you go? Tinkers Creek State Nature Reserve
Between Aurora and Hudson, you will find Tinkers Creek State Nature Reserve. There are a few ponds in this nature reserve that are beautiful for meditating and doing yoga near! Take the Pond View Trail that will take you around the fishing pond where you can stop and do your yoga! You will also see many wildflowers and maybe even beavers on your walk there. There is also an observation deck on the Eagle Point Trail where you can see a beaver lodge and eagles’ nest after your yoga session.
Twinsburg Ledges Area and Nature Center
When you are at the Twinsburg Ledges Area, take the Bluebird Trail through a beautiful meadow where you can do yoga with native flowers and plants. You can meditate to the sound of birds chirping and croaking frogs! If you want to practice over a picturesque background, head up the Black Bear Trail to see the famous Liberty Park Ledges.
Buttermilk Falls
If you want to meditate or do yoga over one of the most beautiful places in Ohio, head over to Buttermilk Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park! There are absolutely stunning views of the waterfall and the soothing sound of the water falling can help you relax!
