Art is a great way to be expressive, and especially with the children out of school, now is the time to have fun, let their creativity shine, and add some playful designs to your concrete.
Umbrella Art
During the summer, the days when it’s thunderstorming and you get to stay inside with your loved ones are a great way to reset. Add some of this imagery to your concrete! Start off by drawing an umbrella, add the handle, add some rain droplets around it, and boom, you’ve got the perfect umbrella photo op. Have one of your kids, you, or a friend or family member act like they’re holding it, and you’ve got an interactive activity and something that displays the essence of a cozy, rainy summer day!
Crown
Crowns are for the royals, and making different crowns with your kids, family members, or friends is also a great way to have an interactive activity that’ll have you and whoever you’re doing it with feel like royalty for a day. Have someone lay down and draw a crown that looks like it is placed on their head. This is a fun activity to do for the whole family, and also a fun, clever photo opportunity.
Hearts
Spread the love by drawing some hearts on your concrete. To make it unique, have everyone in your family draw their own rendition of a heart. This is a great way to show character and to have everyone’s special touch included!
Hopscotch
Hopscotch has been around for a while and is a great way to play outside with your loved ones and to have off your phones, iPads, or computers for a little while. Having competitions with different levels of difficulty is a great way to engage your children and make it a fun activity that will last (until the summer showers hit, at least).
Sidewalk chalk is something that has gotten less common since most of us have our phones, iPads, or computers that we can stay entertained with, but put down your mobile device and get outside! The opportunities with sidewalk chalk are truly endless.
