Are you in charge of desserts for your holiday party this year? It can do difficult to find those special treats that everyone will like and won’t be picked over leaving a bunch of food to go to waste. Here are some ideas to help you decide on a baked good this year!
Macaroons
You can never go wrong with macaroons. Not only do most people love them, but they come in so many different flavors that everyone is bound to find one they like. If you want to stick with the holiday theme, get peppermint chocolate macaroons or if you are a sucker for the sweet and salt, try salted caramel macaroons! These are perfect for holiday parties because there are so many varieties to choose from and they also look so pretty! Set them up on a cute plate and you are set!
Pies
Another holiday must-have is pie, of course! What is a holiday party or family dinner without pie? Boring! The season of pumpkin pie has “ended” but that doesn’t mean you can’t still bring it because most people love pumpkin pie. Another safe route is bringing an apple pie. Don’t just buy the first one you see at the local grocery store because you want it to at least look like you tried a little bit. Check out local baking companies in your area to find the best one!
Rolls
There certainly can’t be anyone in the world who doesn’t love a swiss roll. A giant swiss roll will bring a sense of nostalgia that everyone will love. It is unique and will probably ensure there are no repeats on the dessert table. This is almost guaranteed to be the first treat gone.
Cookies (duh)
You may be thinking “Everyone and their mother are going to bring cookies, why would I bring them too?” You’re right, everyone will probably bring cheap, store-bought cookies but this is your time to shine. Bring something new to the table (literally and figuratively). Homemade cookies are debatably one of the best desserts. You may not have the time to bake a few batches of cookies, but that’s where you call the professionals in. Find a bakery near you to buy the perfect cookies and they may even let you say you made them yourself!
Don’t stress yourself out this holiday season about finding the perfect dessert for your party when there are many amazing, local baking companies and bakeries around who get paid to do it!
