During the Holidays, many people indulge in all kinds of delicious food. Oftentimes, a big holiday meal will leave a person bloated. Doing yoga poses is very beneficial for anyone! Whether you choose to have a class for an hour, 10 minutes, or just hold one pose, you feel some sort of improvement. One of the well-known benefits of yoga is that it helps with digestion. These 3 yoga poses are well-known for helping digestion:

Dangling Forward Fold

For this pose, stand with your feet wide to the length of your hips. After this, slowly but surely fold your upper body forward over your waist. Next, relax your arms. Let your head hang low so that it dangles in between your arms. After holding this pose for a few seconds, use your feet and press firmly into the ground so that you feel sturdy. Hold this for a few moments. After release, you should feel an increase in blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients flowing throughout your body.

Seated Spinal Twist

When your body twists in a yoga pose, this helps to massage your internal organs. It can also help to improve digestion, bloating, and other discomforts. For this pose, you will seat yourself on the ground with your legs out straight. Pull your navel toward your spine and sit up straight. Next, bend your right knee and put your foot on the outside of your left leg. Wrap your left arm around your right leg while twisting to the right. Take your right arm and place it behind you, so that your fingertips are supporting you on the ground. Hold this position and press down firmly. Breath while your body is twisted and continue to hold the pose for a few moments

Boat pose

A boat pose is a great pose to activate your core. It also helps to stimulate your abdominal muscles and organs. Start this pose by sitting up straight with your knees bent. Next, slowly roll back your tailbone and pull your navel in towards your spine. While engaging your core, reach both knees up and lift your feet off the ground. If you have trouble balancing, use your arms as support and wrap them behind your knees until you feel most comfortable. When you feel stable, stretch your legs and extend them towards the ceiling.
